How Did Prince William Get His Scar?

As of 2020, Prince William is second in line to the British throne and is the elder son of the Prince of Wales, Charles, and the former Princess of Wales, Diana who died tragically in a car crash. If you look closely, you’ll notice he has a gnarly forehead scar that hasn’t always been there, but how did he get it?

Prince William got his scar in 1991 after accidentally facing a blow to the head by a fellow student wielding a golf club which resulted in a skull fracture that was operated on thereby causing his “Harry Potter” scar.

Harry Potter Scar

On June 3, 1991, William was admitted to Royal Berkshire Hospital after being accidentally hit on the forehead by a fellow student with a golf club. He did not lose consciousness, but suffered a depressed fracture of the skull, and was operated on at Great Ormond Street Hospital, resulting in a permanent scar. 

In 2009, he described this scar a “Harry Potter scar”. He said: “I call it that because it glows sometimes and some people notice it, other times they don’t notice it at all”.

4. He is above average in height

The average height of a man in the US is 1.7m or 5ft5in. Whereas, Prince Harry is thought to be around 1.89m or 6ft 2 ¾.

5. He met his wife in college

Kate Middleton was one of William’s college flatmates and the pair began dating back in 2003, eight years prior to their spectacular wedding. She attended William’s passing-out parade at Sandhurst, which was the first high-profile event that she attended as his guest.
